Perilous Demise

She hit the floor hard, unexpected,
the blood sour, she tasted.

He struck again, again and again,
consciousness lost, energy drained.

How long would this last, she wondered,
trapped in a limbo, she pondered.

Charm gone, love washed away,
like a white flower that looks fray.

She got up and looked at his hard gaze,
took the knife, and saw him unfazed.

She cut herself again, again and again,
consciousness lost, energy drained.
